Before the first call

What it takes to qualify for MVP

Two things decide it: how much comes off the truck each delivery, and whether your orders meet the distributor’s minimums. We’ll look at both with you, on your own invoices, before anybody signs anything.

Two things decide itDrop size and minimum orders

Two things we look at. That’s it.

Before any paperwork, we look at the two numbers that tell us whether national-account pricing will work at your back door.

01

Drop size

How much comes off the truck each time it pulls up to your door.

A distributor prices a national account on the cost to serve it. Every stop costs them a driver, a truck and a slot on the route, whether they drop a few cases or a full load. Bigger drops cost less per case to deliver, and that’s what makes chain-level pricing possible for an independent.

We don’t publish a cutoff, because drop size depends on how often you take delivery and what’s on the order.

We’ll look at your drop size together on the first call.

02

Minimum orders

The smallest order the distributor will run a truck for on our national account.

Members buy on MVP’s national account number, and the distributor sets a minimum for every order on it. If your orders already clear it, you’re in good shape. If they don’t, we’ll tell you straight and talk through what would change it.

Either way, you’ll know where you stand before the call is over.

Bring a few recent invoices and we’ll check them against the minimum with you.

Why the truck matters more than the menu

The stop costs the distributor about the same either way. The more cases that come off, the less each case carries. That’s the whole reason a 500-unit group gets the price it gets.

What you get once you’re in

Qualifying isn’t a tier or a level. Every member gets the same program our own restaurants buy on.

01 Our national account number

You go on MVP’s national account. You pay what our own 14 restaurants pay: same negotiated cost, same negotiated freight to your back door.

02 The monthly audit, included

Every month we audit the distribution center to confirm you were charged the agreed percentage over cost. Nothing more.

03 Recovery, tracked

When a contract falls off a system or a price gets keyed wrong, we chase it to a credit. Every recovery shows up in your savings in the client portal.

04 You never write us a check

The distributor pays MVP for the volume we bring. No membership fee, no percentage, no subscription. Every rebate dollar we negotiate stays yours.

What to bring to the first call

Whatever you have, as it is. None of it needs to be cleaned up first.

  • A few recent distributor invoicesThat’s where drop size and minimums show up.
  • Your order guideWe price your top movers first. They’re most of your spend.
  • Your delivery daysHow often the truck comes, at each location.
  • Your locationsHow many you run, and who delivers to them today.
Start with one product

Buy a lot of one thing? Start there.

“I buy $2M in shrimp. What can you do for me?”

That’s a fair first question, and a good place to start. Tell us the product and roughly what you spend on it a year. We’ll dig into that one line first and show you the math.

What do you buy the most of? Shrimp, wings, fryer oil... Name it when you call or email, with your best guess at what it costs you a year.

Next step: call or email us.

Give us 30 minutes.

That’s the whole ask. Bring an invoice, and you’ll know on the first call whether MVP fits.
